Within Vue, sites with 1 to 2 layout shifts and 0 layout shifts have a good CLS about equally often.

How repeated layout shifts erode visual stability in the field

Each unexpected layout frame during page load increments the shift count. Across 16,315 sites (25.8%) with 0 lab shifts, 94% pass field CLS, and across 27,803 sites (43.9%) with 1 to 2 shifts, 92% pass field CLS. When a page triggers 3 to 5 shifts (15.5%), good field CLS drops to 82%, and at 6 or more shifts (14.8%, 9,373 sites) good field CLS falls to 79%.
